Reviews for Cafe Restaurant СССР Saigon
Review highlights
Based on 1,695 reviewsCCCP Saigon Restaurant is widely recognized for offering a unique Russian and Eastern European dining experience in Ho Chi Minh City, with an extensive and diverse menu that appeals to both newcomers and those familiar with the cuisine. Patrons often highlight the authenticity and flavor of the dishes, especially the salads and seasoning, which evoke nostalgic and satisfying tastes. The restaurant’s ambiance, characterized by authentic Russian decor spread over two floors and thoughtfully curated music, creates a cozy and inviting atmosphere. However, feedback on service quality presents a mixed picture; while some guests praise attentive and friendly staff, others note instances of impersonal or inattentive behavior that detracts from the overall experience. Despite these inconsistencies, the establishment remains a recommended spot for those seeking to explore Russian culinary culture in the city, especially when paired with their notable selection of beers and occasional themed events.
If you want to try Russian and Eastern European cuisine, stop by this location for their extensive menu. I've never had it before, so not sure how authentic the taste it, but the seasoning of the dishe tasted pretty good. There's quite a few options on the menu, so I would recommend doing some research beforehand. The restaurant has two floors with a decent number of tables and unique decors, perfect for small groups and couples. Overall, a solid experience. P.S. Reserve a table in advance since this place gets pretty crowded.
A cute family restaurant, the hostess (who I assume also the owner) was very warm and friendly. If you want to experience russian food iin SG, Highly recommend this place
The food was great and delicious. The salad especially had the same taste I had as a child. The decoration was nice. On the other hand, the service staff need to improve a lot. They work like robots, with no interaction with guests- completely silent with guests but talk so loud when back with their colleagues, don’t even welcome guests. The lady with black glasses even stared at me publicly They even change the music suddenly and play it in their own way (some trap, hip-hop style), which somehow destroys the atmosphere. In the end, the only word I received was “Thank you” when I paid the bill.
This is one of the rare restaurants in the city that serves Russian food, and I have to say, the taste is surprisingly delectable—even for Vietnamese palates. The portions are just right for sharing, and their selection of beers is truly impressive. The cozy atmosphere, with its authentic Russian decor and well-chosen music, makes it a great spot to unwind. But here's the problem—service is painfully slow. The staff seem glued to their phones, even when the place is busy. Customers have to wave, call out just to get their attention. It’s frustrating and takes away from the experience. Overall, the food and ambiance are excellent, but they seriously need to improve their service. If they can fix this issue, this place would be an easy 5-star recommendation. But until then, patience is a must when dining here.
My recent visit to CCCP Restaurant was fantastic. The service was top-notch, with the staff being attentive and friendly throughout my meal. The food was just as impressive, featuring delicious and well-prepared dishes. A special highlight was the music theme on September 2nd, which was an excellent touch that made the dining experience even more enjoyable. I highly recommend CCCP Restaurant for anyone looking for great food, service, and a wonderful atmosphere.
This is my first time trying Soviet food. The food has quite unique taste and is very delicious for me. I had Mimosa Salad, bread with butter and some grilled pork and mutton. The drinks are tasteful as well The price is a little bit high but overall affordable. I will come back with more review. Booking in advance is recommended since tables are usually fully booked.
We had a nice experience with Russian food here. - Food: nice, fresh, not too much spicy. Even we ordered some to take them home. We love their napoleon cake too- it’s creamy but not too sweet. - Drink: I can’t remember its name but I do like the kind of looks like black beer - Service: fast & professional. The waitress who serves for us is helpful when we had some questions and she gave for us some good recommend food for our 1st time to try Russian food - Price: acceptable
